BRITON Leak Locating Solutions PH 021 779 588

Ageing or failing pipeline systems in a range of industrial and commercial operations of all types and sizes pose many possible leakage or failure points in many challenging non-visible below and above ground locations. Generally entire pipeline systems do not fail even when aged well beyond design life and the practicality and budget restraints of replacing entire systems is unfeasible.

Briton Infrared provides a range of traditional and specialized inspection, testing and locating methods to assist with your water loss reduction endeavors such as Aerial and Ground based Infrared, Acoustic Detection, Acoustic Correlation, Ground Penetrating Radar, Pipe Tracing, Micro Pipe CCTV, and our unique IR-HPA system. We also carry out a range of system isolation point installations, flow meter installation for system testing and troubleshooting as well as excavation, leak repairs and reinstatement.

Very often pipeline systems may contain multiple leaks. Not all leaks are detectable and not all leaks are the same, therefor the process to reduce your leakage may contain various stages such as isolation/detection/repairs/bypassing & replacement. Briton provides all or partial stages in your pipeline leakage reduction process.

Commercial and Industrial Water Leak Detection.

Water pipeline leaks on commercial and industrial property's can often pose unnecessary loss, cost and grounds damage. Often ground surfaces can be completely covered in either concrete, tarmac or hard packed aggregate or pipe systems encased in concrete walls and flooring. Leaks can often go undetected for some time before surfacing and often surface substantial distance from the leak source or not at all. Sometimes the only signs of the leak are increased water usage or pressure drop. Briton Infrared takes a systematic approach to locating system leakage involving system mark-out, isolation, pressure and flow testing, detection and elimination.

Industrial Pipeline Leak Detection

Whether it is water, bitumen, fuel, oil, air, gas or any other material being transported via underground pipeline, Briton Infrared offers unique solutions to your leak locating needs. Our range of survey experience in very demanding environments has given us the ability to find solutions to many challenging pipeline leak problems. We offer both aerial and ground based Infrared pipeline leak locating.

Sewer Line and Tank Leak Detection

Sewer line and tank leaks can often be challenging to locate. Whilst conventional methods of inspection such as CCTV will provide internal condition assessment it often may not pickup joint leakage or cannot tell if seepage is occurring from visible cracks. When appropriate ground conditions, line depth and leakage are present Briton is able to identify areas of concern using our IR-LPA system and GPR.

Underfloor Heating Leak Locating and Grid Mark-out.

In recent years more and more commercial buildings, schools, and residential property’s are being fitted with underfloor heating systems. As pipework and heating coils are fully encased in concrete leakage can often result in saturation of structure without surfacing of water making leak locating difficult. Briton Infrared Locates leakage in both supply lines and floor grid coils. We also provide grid mark-out for drilling and anchoring avoidance using both IR and Concrete Scan/gpr.

Farm and Station Water Leak Locating.

Water supply and restriction is forever a challenge to farmers nationwide. Whilst most irrigation and supply lines are close to the surface and leakage may be visible, large areas of farmland can often take a substantial time to cover and when water supply is tight taking weeks to locate a high volume leak may not be an option. Briton Infrared provides fast response Aerial Infrared Leak Locating to assist with farmland leaks on any scale - Nationwide. We also offer ground based assistance using remote mobile pressure testing equipment, acoustic correlation and infrared from central North Island up.

Infrared Image: Underground water pipeline leak we located during a aerial pipeline survey. All conventional ground based methods had been undertaken to try and locate this fault. There were no visible signs of this leak on the surface of this late 80's pipeline that was at a depth of 1.2 meters, in a remote location with difficult access. We confirmed this finding with acoustic methods prior to excavation.
